Cult Called Man was founded by Razmo in an inner city psychiatric ward in 2012. The idea of Cult Called Man was to be a little strange. ‘It’s an “art-band” founded in a psychiatric hospital. You’ve gotta play the way you feel, you gotta put all the light and all the darkness into the show.’

Razmo met Seph and the rest of the cult at a secluded studio in Tyerllstown, Dublin. As new members joined and others disappeared, Cult Called Man became stronger than ever. With complete dedication, Razmo and Seph welcomed The Wheel, who has an unhealthy fetish for effects pedals; Seba, an Argentinian bassist who sold his life possessions and sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to join the only cult who would accept him; and J-Ron, a tall, hairy dude who they like to call ‘The Professor’.

‘When we play, it’s a church. We preach, and people either get on board  or get freaked out.’ The comment that the band are trying to make with their songs is that mundane, sane things that folks buy into are just as messed up and crazy as the insane, chaotic things that freak them out. ‘It’s all the same river that flows. Why nail things down?’

Cult Called Man are more than just a band. They are a legion, they are a gathering, they are a cult. Since breaking onto the scene in 2013, this 5 piece from Co Meath have developed a strong live following with their shows becoming more of an artistic event than a standard musical performance. This band has nuances of both David Bowie and Talking Heads with their own original twist which is a delight to behold.
