Donna Dunne “The Sound of Today” is one of Irelands newest and up & coming artists. Since the release of her first EP ‘Woman in Black’ in 2012, Donna has attracted fans from all over the world.

Donna wrote a song called Beale Street after a turning point trip to Memphis. Donna was eager to record Beale Street and was recommended to work with studio owner, Brandon Hoadley. Brandon has perfected his craft having toured Europe, America and Asia with some house hold names such as Jerry lee Lewis, Jamie Cullum, Eric Clapton, BB king, Robbie Williams, the living end to name but a few.

After recording Beale Street, a tour was put together with the band for the summer of 2013 in Ireland and the UK. Donna and the band received a lot of interest and got signed to BBE records with promises of a new album. This was shortly lived as BBE went bankrupt.

Early 2014 saw the release of ‘Way Back Then’ to much acclaim and more interest.
Shortly after, Donna and Brandon secured a six month tour of Spain coming back home only once to play on the main stage at the Groove Festival supporting Beautiful South and David Gray.

The band are now rearing to go with hopes of making an album after The Cork Jazz Festival in October 2014. A busking tour around Europe will also start on the 27th November which will prove to be one of bands most adventurous steps to date.
