Jazz Improv! welcome guest band George Colligan Trio.

George Colligan is a New York based pianist and bandleader, who is one of the most original and compelling jazz artists of his generation. He has released more than 24 of his own albums, has recorded on over 100 albums,  and has performance with jazz stars including Cassandra Wilson, Don Byron and Buster Williams amongst others.

American pianist George Colligan has spent more than two decades enhancing the work of famous leaders, but as well as appearing on more than 100 albums, he makes impressive ones of his own.

The winner of the 2015 DownBeat Magazine Critics Poll for keyboard, Colligan has had a long association as a member of the legendary Jack DeJohnette’s ensemble.  He will be in the company of two of Ireland’s leading side-men, bassist Dave Redmond and drummer Darren Beckett.
