MINDRIOT

The music has been described as soul music with grunt and have even been compared legends such as Kerbdog, The Deftones, Foo Fighters and Clutch.
The 12 track album was recorded in Midleton, Cork with accomplished producer Ciaran O’Shea (ex “Cyclefly” ) and showcases MINDRIOT’s own special brew of “Alternative Rock”. MINDRIOT have always been synonymous with energetic, exciting live performances and the long list of gigs in the last year shows the band show no sign of stopping.Formed over two decades ago, childhood friends from Mitchelstown in North Cork came together to form the band ‘MINDRIOT’ and although there has been laughter and tears, hatred and love over the years the members of MINDRIOT have drawn on those experiences to mold their musical style.

MINDRIOT returned to play INDIEPENDENCE 2015 having previously played Indie14 and with no shortage of festival experience having also played Oxegen amongst others and have shared the stage with acts such as The Stunning, Juliet Turner, Bagatelle , Jack L, Jape and Mark Lanegan to name but a few.
the band stepped it up a gear again, gaining the main stage at Indie15 on the Friday night to open the festival and also then a 2nd performance on the Saturday night. This lead to the band being regarded as 1 of the Top 5 acts of the week end by critics along side acts such as Ham Sandwich and The Original Rude boys and ASH.

MINDRIOTmt most popular track to date is “Low” which was nominated for a Meteor award. The video for the song has been viewed in nearly 70 countries and also played in Europe and the U.S and also featured on The BBC radio and national and regional Irish radio.

“Brothers excels when it’s played loud” , “Lean, fit and inherently melodic “. Irish Times Music writer Tony Clayton-Lea.

“A final thought is that if Low and its accompanying video had featured on MTV in the late 90’s Mindriot would have charted across the globe, particularly in the U.S., and the guys would probably (not!) be demanding the removal of the blue M&M’s from the bowl in their tour bus now”

“Brothers is good, it’s really f##### good, and not unlike anything The Deftones or Tool have released over the years. To place MindRiot on a pedestal next to these acts is saying quite something.”
