Roll over Beethoven and tell Tchaikovsky the news!

Daniel Jeanrenaud alias ‘The Camden Cat’ and Rockin’ Roll king of the London underground is heading your way for a short Irish tour. He has assembled a band of Irish musicians to augment his sound of the greats! The Hot Spot Music Club is proud to present this first ever Irish tour.

Throughout his career, Daniel Jeanrenaud has shared a bill, and hung out with the likes of; Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Bo Diddley and more. Daniel’s first band to break into the industry was ‘The Kingsnakes’ – which he formed with several members of American cult punk band ‘The Flamin Groovies’. Chuck Berry even named Daniel’s favourite Gibson guitar ‘Nadine’ after borrowing it on tour at Bill Grahams ‘Old Waldorf’ in downtown San Francisco. The Kingsnakes parted ways in the mid-nineties, playing their last show at the Olympia in Paris with ‘Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’

Since then Daniel has been the man behind a legendary 12-year residency at the Marathon in Camden Town attracting the likes of Paul Weller, Jarvis Cocker, Liam & Noel Gallagher, and Amy Winehouse to the crowds. Daniel has also regularly jammed at the restaurant with Chas Smash of Madness, and even performed a few songs with Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads, and with Jack White of the White Stripes which was covered by Kerrang! and NME Magazine in 2002.

If you like Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochrane, Elvis or Fats Domino do not miss this tour! Daniel Jeanrenaud is fronting James Delaney on keyboard who has played with Chuck Berry himself as well as Van Morrison; Simon Farrell on double bass who toured with Imelda May in 2008 and Shane Atlas on drums. Other bands under their collective belts include Gavin Povey & the Pavement Kings.

The ‘Roll Over Beethoven Tour’ rolls into Cork for a slot in Crane Lane Theatre on July 22. Doors open 8pm. Tickets €10 – €12. Roll Over Beethoven and dig these rhythm and blues!
