With five albums to their credit, Two Time Polka has proven popular with radio stations receiving both national and international airplay. In 2005 they toured the US which led to the release of a compilation CD there.

In 2011 Two Time Polka were winners in the Best Musical Act category, awarded to them by AOIFE, the governing body of festivals in Ireland.

In recent years the band have played numerous festival abroad including such prestigious festivals as: Glastonbury (UK), Omagh Bluegrass Festival (UK), Folkest (Italy), Skagen International Folk Festival (Denmark), Zydecozity International Cajun & Zydeco Festival (Netherlands), Paulusfeesten, Ostende, Ham Folk Festival, Deerlijk Folk Festival and Gentse Feesten (Belgium).

On the home front Two Time Polka have played many festival including: – Waterford Spraoi International Street Arts festival, Cork Folk Festival, Cork Jazz Festival and a show stopping set at Irelands premier festival The Electric Picnic.

The group have written their own songs on and off between soundchecks and rehearsals over the years, and in 2023 unleashed their own brand of retro-fied rock n’ roll into the world. Debut single ‘Brain Ghost’ preceded a three track EP; a mixture of rock n’ roll, R&B, and punk rock that reflects the world The Tan Jackets live inside.

Mechner has an impressive voice which sits atop guitars that range from Pixies loud to The Smiths jangle. Listen for post-rock/electronic sounds interwoven within taking cues from the like of Low Roar and Joy Division. Mechner is drenched in melancholic melody and introspective lyrics, often clawing at the darker sides of the human experience, though not without a romantic edge, some would describe the sounds as cinematic.

Following the release of debut album “Club Idem” in 2022, mechner has remained relatively quiet over the years, which is usual for an artist that pays attention to the details. out of the studio recording their albums that preach “one love,

peace and harmony” in times of fake news, war, migration, and

xenophobia. Blending their own original music with Jamaican,
