Hot Press journalist and cult author Olaf Tyaransen described Eamonn Dowd as “One of the great survivors of Irish rock ‘n’ roll”
In recent years Dowd and his band The Racketeers have colaboarated with members of Horslips resulting in the acclaimed album ‘Songs From The Fever Ship’. Earlier this year (2022) the band released no less than six singles, one of which was voted into the Top 5 singles of the year by influential american publication Global Texan Chronicles.

Back in 1996 Eamonn Dowd formed The Racketeers in his native Ireland and embarked on a never ending adventure bringing his fiery brand of country / americana / garage / rock ‘n’ roll to audiences far and wide, releasing eleven albums along the way. In recent years Dowd has toured (with The Racketeers & solo) throughout Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, Spain, Finland, Estonia, Austria, Switzerland, Czech, east coast USA and Canada.
He has also recorded with cult British rocker Nikki Sudden and Lady Olivia Robertson .

Two of his critically acclaimed albums were released on Berlin record label Cannery Row Records with the recent ‘Songs From The Fever Ship’ (with members of Horslips) released through Intendance (Deutschland) .
Currently based in Sweden he includes Ireland in his touring schedule as often as possible.

PRESS

One of the great survivors of Irish rock ‘n’ roll
OLAF TYARANSEN – HOT PRESS (Ireland)

It’s like the ghosts of Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer appear. This is old-school arts and crafts, a terse articulation of the devil’s music, of struggle and calamity, of strangers in dangerous towns. Eamonn‘s music matters.
JOHN FLEMING – IRISH TIMES (Ireland)

Songs From The Fever Ship is a total work of art that once again proves that rock is not dead and does not have to sound desperately retro.
MUSIK REVIEW (Germany)

Songs From The Fever Ship is a magical collaboration between two incredible artists
DAILY STAR (Ireland)

Being in France and hearing Eamonn perform The Merchants of Bordeaux, and a few other tracks from his new album Songs from the Fever Ship, before a hushed audience was a profoundly moving experience.
WINE SEARCHER (New Zealand)

The rocking “Oh Hangman” and the beautiful folk ballad “The Merchants Of Bordeaux” are our personal favorite
tracks on this great album.
ROOTSTIME (Belgium)

Gothic country….raw and dark…
WHICKEYSODA (Germany)

Raw and passionate, it’s an album of dark Americana with stripped back country bones and rags of battle scarred rock ‘n’ roll
fluttering in a parched breeze
